On a vibrant Info Day dedicated to the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), the University of Vlora became a hub of inspiration, collaboration, and forward-thinking ideas. Organized by the Scientific Research and Projects Sector, the event brought together academic staff, students, researchers, and project leaders to explore the many opportunities offered by EIT and its diverse innovation communities.
Among the key highlights of the day was the promotion of the ZERO-C project, a flagship initiative of the University of Vlora aimed at advancing sustainability and carbon neutrality through innovation, education, and cross-sector collaboration. ZERO-C was showcased alongside other impactful projects currently underway at UV, reflecting the university’s strong commitment to sustainable development and regional transformation.
Participants had the chance to learn more about ZERO-C’s objectives, activities, and achievements to date, including its role in supporting the green transition, fostering entrepreneurship, and developing new skills in line with the goals of the European Green Deal. The project’s interdisciplinary approach, combining research, technology, and community engagement, aligns perfectly with the mission of EIT to drive innovation across Europe.
Throughout the Info Day, speakers and panelists emphasized the importance of building strategic partnerships with EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) in areas such as climate, energy, digital technologies, health, and raw materials. The presence of projects like ZERO-C underscored the university’s growing involvement in European innovation ecosystems and its proactive stance in shaping a more resilient, sustainable, and inclusive future.
We are proud to see ZERO-C gaining recognition and building momentum as a key contributor to these efforts. As we move forward, the University of Vlora remains dedicated to fostering innovation, empowering young minds, and taking meaningful steps toward a zero-carbon future.
Stay tuned for more updates on ZERO-C and other exciting projects that are shaping the future of our university and beyond.
