WP 3 traces the Capacity Building section of the project through staff training and equipment upgrades, strengthening the know-how transfer to teaching staff related to energy efficiency and decarbonization in the maritime transport and logistics industry. New approaches to the WB HEIs will be employed, involving a set of practices and principles to make the process of teaching and learning highly effective for students and professionals. First of all, the engagement of the private sector in the definition of future courses guarantees a goal-oriented vision and brings the actors in the training process closer to a technical and specialized vision, which is fundamental to understanding the reference system in which the project operates. This will help to improve the effectiveness of the delivered education thanks to the connection with actual and existent issues in the industrial processes of local stakeholders. Updating teaching methods, topics, and critical analysis of the current situation involves an understanding of the roles of each agent of innovation related to decarbonization and sustainable energy, as well as technical, legal, and managerial updates on the rapid evolution that this field is undergoing.
