The Third Zero C Management Board Meeting in Hamburg

On 18–19 September 2025, the partners of the Zero C Project gathered in Hamburg, Germany, for the third Management Board Meeting. The event, hosted by Technische Universität Hamburg (TUHH), served as an important milestone to reflect on the project’s progress, address implementation challenges, and plan the next steps.

Key Discussions and Achievements

During the two working days, updates and results were presented across all work packages:

  • WP1: Project Management and Quality Assurance (UAMD) – challenges in management and implementation were analyzed.

  • WP2: Development of Skills-Oriented Curricula (UV, UAMD, UoM) – the adaptation and revision of teaching materials was reported as finalized, ready for accreditation and subsequent implementation at partner universities.

  • WP3: Staff Training and Installation of New Equipment (NTUA) – the importance of practical and laboratory-based training for capacity building was highlighted.

  • WP4: Impact and Dissemination (ITS Logistica Puglia) – results achieved so far and strategies for strengthening the project’s impact were presented.

Visits and Practical Experiences

Alongside the academic and managerial sessions, participants had the opportunity to:

  • Visit the Port of Hamburg by boat, observing first-hand the operations of one of Europe’s largest seaports.

  • Explore the Fraunhofer CML laboratories, where they were introduced to the latest innovations in logistics and maritime transport.

These experiences provided valuable practical insights into how technological innovation is transforming the maritime and logistics sectors.

Next Steps

At the conclusion of the project’s second year, Zero C has nearly completed the adaptation of teaching materials for study programs in Albania and Montenegro. Following accreditation, these courses will be implemented at partner universities UAMD, UV, and UoM. Moving forward, the project will focus on:

  • Finalizing quality assurance reports.

  • Securing accreditation and official approval of the new courses.

  • Developing further teaching materials and methodologies.

  • Launching HND, Bachelor, PhD, and Lifelong Learning (LLL) programs.

  • Consolidating the Zero C regional network through the involvement of key stakeholders and the signing of Memoranda of Understanding.
